Senior Cost Accountant

Location: Westford, MA

Job Purpose:

The Cost Accountant will work closely with the Manufacturing Controller on various aspects of accounting for operations including the following:

  • Prepare monthly revenue and cost reconciliation, reporting and analysis as it relates to gross margin analysis.
  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts related to Inventory, Deferred Revenue and COGS.
  • Review and analyze accounts included in the indirect COGS section of the P&L including purchase price variance, standard cost adjustments, and inventory adjustments.
  • Responsible for weekly review of purchase price variances to identify needs for purchase cost changes.
  • Review Bills of Material for cost accuracy
  • Participate in annual physical inventory.
  • Work with Manufacturing Controller in preparation of annual cost roll of inventory valuation.
  • Assist Manufacturing Controller with accumulating documentation as it pertains to annual Sarbanes Oxley and Financial audits.
  • Maintain Syteline database regarding warehouse and product code set up.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

Functional Expertise:

  • Understanding of accounting practice and financial controls as it relates to Inventory and Cost Accounting.
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
  • Experience with Excel

  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum education requirement:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

Accounts Payable Specialist – Job #101-14

Location: Westford, MA

Job Purpose:  The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible to oversee the daily activities of the AP team and is responsible for reviewing, validating and processing invoices accurately and timely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the accurate and on-time processing of weekly check runs including supporting documentation.
  • Assist with month end close of the AP module.
  • Appropriate and timely routing of invoices for approval.
  • Process and matching within the AP system for purchase orders, invoices and materials receipts.
  • Maintain organized vendor payable files and related document files.
  • Respond to vendor inquires timely and accurately and maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Research and resolve Accounts Payable discrepancies.
  • Follow up on invoices to ensure timely payment processing.
  • Auditing of invoices for discrepancies.
  • Additional duties as requested by management

Critical Competencies: Experience with accounting systems and A/P software.

Functional Expertise: Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ years AP experience required.
  • 2 years of AP staff supervision.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred with a concentration in Accounting.
  • Excellent computer skills, including fluency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with 1099 vendors.
